In late December 2017, Congress passed sweeping tax reform. Over five hundred pages of tax provisions were signed into law just before the holiday season. The new tax law (and related provisions) modify individual, corporate, estate/gift, and international taxation. While these laws generally take effect on January 1, 2018 for the 2018 calendar year, a few provisions are retroactive to 2017. This William S. Boyd School of Law tax education and outreach program will provide an overview of these tax provisions generally focusing on tax law changes that will involve most Nevadans. Real world examples will demonstrate new tax benefits and burdens. Participants will be able to ask questions.
